NATURE OF HISTORY

 INTRODUCTION TO HISTORY 

1.History is a research and a research is based on evidence and evidence is anything surviving an event  that is an evidence is anything that provide a clue that something has happen example a damage cat.

2. History is a reconstruction and not a reproduction of the past, while a reproduction comes from a true picture or reconstruction is based on a obtained picture.

3.ot is concerned with the society and not individual.this is so because man cannot easily be detached from society.

HISTORY MINDNESS AND THINKING 

Because  of the nature of history there is a particular way historian think dealing with the problem of the society. As a history student therefore to be able to reconstruct activities of man in the society on the basis of surthing evidence,the student must be trained in the historical perspective (the way the historian looks at things) and the methodology (the way he goes about doing or reconstructing the works). Historical thinking therefore involves with perspective and methodology.

ELEMENT OF HISTORICAL THINKING 

The emergence of western historical tradition can be traced back to the classic times.The characteristics of the pre nineteen century

1.History during this period was essentially a narrative of memorable event designed to preserve what was important to the society and to the individual 

2.The knowledge of history was used to prepare you g people for life especially political and military life. This was the period when history emphasis the "Great man concept".
